Nerf Time for Kids: After-Hours at the Library**

Registration and Waiver Required Nerf Time for Kids: After-Hours at the Library Date: First Wednesday of the Month Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (Check-in from 11:30 am–12:00 PM only) Ages: 6 - 11 Location: Inside the Library (Closed to the public) Get ready for an exclusive after-hours Nerf battle inside the library. When the doors are closed and the bookshelves become the battlefield! Kids are invited to bring their own Nerf-style blasters (must use standard foam darts only. No ammo balls or discs allowed). Blasters must be clearly labeled with the owner's name. Do not bring your own ammo—standard darts (brand and off-brand) will be provided. A limited number of blasters will be available to borrow for those who need one. Check-in time runs from 11:30 am–12:00 PM. During this time, staff will inspect and approve blasters, confirm completed waivers, go over rules, and help get adults settled in the Community Room if they choose to stay. Doors will lock promptly at 12:00 PM. No late entries will be allowed. Because this program takes place during the lunch hour, families are encouraged to eat lunch before arriving or bring a quick snack to enjoy before check-in. This event is for Nerf play only. No regular library services (checkouts, computer use, etc.) will be available during the event. For this age group, a parent or guardian must remain in the library building during the program. Adults are welcome to relax in the Reference Area while kids participate in Nerf activities. All participants must follow safety rules and staff directions at all times. This includes: No shooting above the shoulders No roughhousing No climbing on furniture or shelves No entering staff-only or restricted areas Removable cushions may be used to create small forts or barriers; however, large furniture must remain in place. Participants who cannot follow safety rules or staff instructions may be removed from the event. Waivers are required for participation. No waiver, no entry. Waivers can be picked up in advance, printed from the library’s website, or filled out during check-in. Please wear closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing for physical activity. No backpacks or bags are allowed in the Nerf war zone. Personal items may be stored with your adult in the reference area. Water will be provided, but kids are welcome to bring their own water bottles.
